The Ryans
The Ryans are a three time Irish Music Award winning band, including Best New Irish Band! They are a four piece band that truly fits a family pub like the Ace—3 members from the Ryan family and 1 from dear ol’ Donegal! They’ve toured throughout 12 different countries and are just about to embark on an Irish musical cruise as one of the featured acts. They play lively Irish music and of course…a bit o’ the rebel songs that we all know and love too! I’ve seen a lot of banjo players but I’ve never seen one like Paddy Ryan! Check out the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNCmQ_G7eRs&feature=youtu.be and go to the 5:10 mark—you will see Paddy literally playing the banjo behind his back!!!
And to top it off, the Ryans aren’t just playing once on St. Patrick’s Day…THEY’RE PLAYING TWO SHOWS! So stick around all day—The Ryans will be worth it!
Eunan McIntyre
Also returning to the Ace for St. Patrick’s Day is Ireland’s own, Eunan McIntyre!, Eunan McIntyre, lives “just up the glen” from where many of the Irish in Indianapolis have their roots. Eunan has won a number of singer/songwriter competitions in Ireland and has toured extensively throughout Ireland, Switzerland, Spain and Canada. Eunan has wowed the crowd at the Golden Ace the last few years at the Ace and we know he will do it again this year too! Whether it be traditional favorites, rebel songs or a few of his own, Eunan McIntyre can do it all!
Pat Grant & Accompanist
The best Irish tenor in Indiana, Patrick Grant, will also be at the Golden Ace! His voice is incredible, he sings the Irish songs that we can all sing-a-long to and but hits the notes that not all of us can hit. By the age of twelve, he was singing live on the B.B.C., and he has continued to hone his talents throughout the years. Upon coming to the US, Pat has appeared on stage with such classic artists as Pat O’Brien and Dennis Day. For over 30 years Pat has performed at the Golden Ace, he is a staple of the Golden Ace’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and a true treasure to the entire Irish community in Indianapolis!
Wild Eye Rose
The Circle City’s Celtic rock band, Wild Eye Rose, will also be performing at the Ace on March 17th. Wild Eye Rose is an incredibly talented 6 piece Irish party band that calls Indianapolis home. They have a fiddle, an accordion, keyboard, guitars, drums, harmonica and JP McGinley on the mic! Wild Eye Rose has rocked the St. Patrick’s Day tent at the Ace before, getting the crowd jumping and dancing to songs by Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys and Gaelic Storm (the band in Titanic). Special guest appearance by Mary Catherine “McGinley Skrpisky!
