Local and regional pub champions compete in
the first round of the Irish Toast Contest.
Competitors try to impress the judges and
the crowd with their wit and charm as they
vie for the top prize of a trip to Ireland. Top performers move to the finals
on Saturday night. |

This Celtic Rock band, formed by two natives

group of fans who often erupt into
spontaneous “jig pits” at shows. Expect a

acoustic, string, percussion and wind
instruments, along with singing,
storytelling and dancing. Known as “Canada’s
Celtic ambassadors,” the Barra MacNeils
provide great entertainment for all ages. |

Fifth Annual Kilted Mile
|
Time: 2:00 p.m. |

Participants, dressed in kilts, will run a
one mile course on New York St. at the north
side of the festival site. Bagpipe bands
will pipe motivational music along the
course. Come watch a colorful and musical
Celtic athletic event and cheer your
favorite Celt.

in this Canadian trio. Named after an Irish
spirit, Banshee combines traditional
Canadian folk music with fresh arrangements,
lively musicianship and “joie de vivre” of
Atlantic Canada. |
